Get your boots folks, we’re electing sheriffs!
Are you ready to make effective change where it counts most? Our local communities are full of elections that have unopposed people running in them. These people are getting elected by default just because no one is running against them. That’s where YOU come in. We are looking for people to not only help the candidates we have so far but also people that are willing to take on this challenge themselves. You won’t be alone! You will have an amazing support team behind you the whole time. What’s the worst thing that could happen? You get elected and make a positive impact on your community. Sounds like a win to us!
OUR PLATFORM
We intend to improve wellbeing of every resident of our communities, as well as the officers who serve them. We will support evidence-based programs and initiatives to address our communities’ top concerns.
1.
We are opposed to cooperation with ICE and plan to end any official agreements, including form 287(g). We intend to fully support local agencies to reduce fraud and abuse, prioritize local business and residents, and ensure your voice is heard. This means keeping our communities safe from any occupying presence like the federal ICE agency that disrupts order and peace in our neighborhoods.
2.
We will protect the autonomy of each resident by opposing the use of Automated License Plate Readers (ALPRs), such as Flock cameras. We will support our municipalities in dismantling their existing programs.
It is our position that stopping companies from surveillance overreach is important to the safety and wellbeing of our communities.
3.
We believe in the importance of harm reduction. Approaching crises in our communities compassionately means an informed model of situation response—allowing trained mental health professionals to respond when appropriate and supporting officers, both on and off duty.
Funding these initiatives through state and federal grants mitigates tax burdens on residents while also facilitating accessible resources for those most in need in our communities. While these grants are often underutilized by Wisconsin sheriff’s departments, we will actively seek to secure these funds and strengthen our communities.
Our platform speaks for itself. We will not resort to smear campaigns, or entertain distractions.
We are doing this to raise awareness in our state that women and non-law enforcement folks can run for this position, to encourage outsiders (especially women) to run, and to bring attention to the lack campaign substance these positions have historically seen. It’s time for matriarchal oversight.
